A No-Nonsense Approach to Counseling
Hello! My name is Christa Lamont, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Prior to starting this practice, I worked for several years in a Level 12 Residential Treatment Facility for at risk youth where I had the privilege of receiving a great deal of on the job experience as well as professional training in attachment, trauma, addiction and various mental health conditions. I also served as a Civilian Family Readiness Officer for the United States Marine Corps for 3 years where I had the opportunity to support the Marines, Sailors and families of a military installation in adapting to the many changes and trials that life in the military brings while advocating for increased services for the installation and assisting the service members and their families in utilizing resources available to them.
I am currently pursuing my DrPH with an emphasis in Preventative Care and I operate from a whole person perspective when providing psychotherapy. I believe that the key to healing is reconnecting the mind and body and that long term unresolved mental health distress manifests as physical symptoms. I enjoy working collaboratively with medical professionals to promote improved patient outcomes.
